To the woman who didn’t give us everything

Because today’s the 1st day of Women’s Month and my Mama’s birth month, here’s a little tribute for her....

TO A MOTHER WHO DIDN’T GIVE US EVERYTHING

My mom didn’t give everything to us, and I thank her for that.

She didn’t marry another man to give us a dad when our Papa died, hence, I realized that true love lasts even after death.

She wasn’t able to give us a home where only us would live, hence, we learn to live and mingle with others in an extended-family-home set-up.

She didn’t get back to working, hence, we saw how much time she put for us everyday and we grew up getting all of her time and attention.

She didn’t give us a house helper not only because we can’t afford it that time, hence, we learn to do house chores.

She didn’t easily give all the things we prayed or dreamed of, hence, we learn to strive to get those things on our own.

She didn’t help us on our school assignments, hence, we learn to discover and learn new things on our own.

She didn’t cook only for us, hence, we learn to share and give food to other people.

She wasn’t ashamed of being a HS undergraduate, hence, we learn to treat other people not because of their achievements or titles, but because they are humans and deserve to be treated nicely.

She didn’t forced us to get good grades all the time, hence, we learn that not all the things we do in life should be graded and we should live our life by not getting approval of anyone but by what makes us happy as long as we will not hurt anyone.

She’s impatient with us at times, hence, we learn to behave or act politely.

She has no hesitations to easily forgive other people, hence, we learn to know who’s really sincere or not.

She’s selfless, hence, we learn to have self-worth.

Thank you, Ma for not giving us everything, hence we learn that not giving everything doesn’t mean that you didn’t love us. That “not giving everything” means we will be gaining more lessons from it.

Thank you for not giving us everything and thank you for teaching us about almost everything we need to learn to survive this life.

Thank you for loving us with a tough love. And we love you for that. I know that you are proud of us up there, because I know that whatever we do, you are always always proud of us. 💕

Advance happy birthday, Mama. 💕
